Help & Support
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do sun spots appear on the skin?
Sun spots (solar lentigines) develop from melanin accumulation in the epidermis following prolonged UV exposure. Over time, solar radiation damages melanocytes, causing irregular pigment concentrations. They're especially common on the face, décolletage, and hands. While benign, they signal photoaging and warrant treatment to prevent additional skin damage.
What treatments does Santé use to eliminate sun spots?
At Santé, we combine two effective protocols: rejuvenation laser, which fragments pigment without damaging healthy skin, and Hollywood peeling, which exfoliates superficial layers while stimulating cellular renewal. Both adapt to spot type and depth. Laser is more precise for localized spots; peeling is ideal for diffuse spots or generalized photoaging.
How many sessions do I need and when will I see results?
With laser, typically 1–2 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart suffice; visible results appear after 2–3 weeks. Hollywood peeling requires 3–4 weekly or bi-weekly sessions for optimal results. Improvement is progressive: initial lightening at 10–15 days, with final results at 2 months after completing the protocol.
Does it hurt? Do I need to avoid makeup or going outside?
Laser produces mild warmth without significant pain. Peeling may cause slight stinging during application. Both have minimal downtime: redness lasting 24–48 hours, concealable with makeup. You can resume normal activity immediately, but SPF50+ sun protection daily for 4 weeks is mandatory. No age restrictions for adult patients.
