Marionette lines

Marionette lines are grooves that descend from the corners of the mouth toward the chin. They develop due to loss of volume and elasticity in the perioral area, combined with repeated action of the depressor anguli oris muscle. Aging, decreased collagen production, and gravity accentuate these marks, giving the face a more serious or tired expression.

At Santé, we employ a combined protocol: high-density hyaluronic acid in the lips to restore volume in the perioral zone, complemented with Radiesse (calcium hydroxyapatite) in deeper grooves. The latter acts as a collagen inducer, improving skin quality long-term. This combination delivers natural, long-lasting results.

Generally, one initial session is required. Results are visible immediately after hyaluronic acid injection. Radiesse continues improving progressively over 4–6 weeks, stimulating new collagen. Most patients notice complete line softening within 2–3 weeks. Results persist 12–18 months depending on individual metabolism.

The procedure is virtually painless thanks to the atraumatic cannulas we use. Downtime is minimal: mild redness or swelling may occur the first 24–48 hours, easily concealed with makeup. No significant restrictions apply. Most patients resume normal activities immediately.
