Aesthetic medicine has been searching for the ideal filler for decades: one that is effective, long-lasting, safe, natural, and — above all — accepted by the body as its own. The answer, paradoxically, has always been in the patient's own blood.
Plasma gel is a biological filler obtained from the patient's blood through a controlled centrifugation and thermal activation process. The result is a viscoelastic gel with a consistency similar to hyaluronic acid, completely autologous, that combines two actions no conventional filler can offer simultaneously: immediate volumizing effect and regenerative tissue stimulation.

What Plasma Gel Is and How It's Obtained
Plasma gel starts with the patient's own platelet-rich growth factors (PRGF). The process:
- Extraction: A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient (similar to a standard clinical analysis).
- Centrifugation: The blood is centrifuged to separate plasma from red blood cells and platelets.
- Thermal Activation: The plasma undergoes a controlled heating process (between 75° and 85°C) which causes the denaturation of plasma proteins, particularly fibrin and albumin, forming a viscoelastic three-dimensional network.
- Resulting Gel: The product obtained is a cohesive, manageable, and injectable gel, with physical properties similar to medium-density hyaluronic acid fillers.
Plasma gel contains no external components: it is 100% derived from the patient.
What Plasma Gel Does Once Injected
Once in the tissue, plasma gel acts in two dimensions:
Mechanical Action (Immediate)
The gel immediately occupies space, just like any filler. This allows for:
- Restoring lost volume in areas like cheeks, nasolabial folds, or temples
- Correcting deep expression lines
- Providing structural support to the tissue
Biological Action (Delayed)
Unlike hyaluronic acid, plasma gel gradually releases growth factors and bioactive molecules contained in the original plasma. These factors stimulate:

Prior Medical Consultation
We evaluate the area to be treated, skin type, medical history, and expectations. The doctor explains the procedure in detail and determines if plasma gel is the most suitable option or if it should be combined with other treatments.
The Procedure
The session lasts approximately 60-75 minutes:
- Blood extraction (5-10 min)
- Centrifugation and thermal activation of plasma (20-30 min)
- Application of topical anesthesia to the treatment area (20-30 min)
- Injection of plasma gel with cannula or fine needle technique, depending on the area (15-30 min)
Post-Treatment and Evolution
There may be edema and bruising in the first 48-72 hours, similar to any filler. Edema may be slightly more pronounced than with hyaluronic acid in some patients.
The evolution of plasma gel is interesting: in the first few weeks, volume may decrease slightly (the gel is reabsorbed in its aqueous component), but at 4-6 weeks, it stabilizes with the biological effects consolidating the result.

How many sessions do I need?

Is the treatment reversible?
Not directly. Unlike hyaluronic acid, plasma gel cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. This is why prior medical assessment and application technique are especially important.
Can I combine plasma gel with other treatments?
Yes. It combines very well with PRP in the same session, with HIFU (with adequate time separation), and with bio-stimulation treatments.
How long do the results last?
Between 9 and 15 months in most patients. The biological component (improved tissue quality) may have longer-lasting effects.
Can it be done in summer?
Yes, there is no seasonal contraindication. Regular sun protection is recommended post-treatment.
