Loss of volume

About the Treatment

Loss of volume

Facial volume depends on fat compartments, bone and ligaments. With age the deep fat shifts and drops, bone resorbs and ligaments loosen. The result is loss of projection, descent of tissues and loss of the highlights that frame the face.

Help & Support

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I lose volume in my face as I age?

Volume loss is a natural consequence of aging. Over time, collagen and elastin production decreases, and subcutaneous adipose tissue is reabsorbed. Factors like genetics, sun exposure, stress, and hormonal changes accelerate this process. The result is a more hollow appearance, especially in the cheekbones, lips, and nasolabial folds.

What treatments does Santé use to restore lost volume?

At Santé, we use next-generation hyaluronic acid to restore lip and facial volume naturally. For longer-lasting results, we apply Sculptra (polylactic acid), a collagen-inducing agent that stimulates your skin's own production over months. We combine both according to your specific needs for a harmonious, personalized effect.

How many sessions do I need and when will I see results?

With hyaluronic acid, results are immediate. With Sculptra, we recommend 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart to optimize collagen stimulation; progressive changes appear 4–8 weeks after the first session. Effects last 18–24 months depending on the protocol and your metabolism.

Does it hurt? Do I have to stop my normal activities?

Both treatments are minimally invasive with topical anesthesia. Mild redness and swelling may occur for the first 24–48 hours. No significant downtime: resume normal activities immediately. Avoid intense exercise for 48 hours. Hyaluronic acid is reversible if desired. Consult Santé to assess your case and personalized budget.
