Receding chin

About the Treatment

Receding chin

Facial volume depends on fat compartments, bone and ligaments. With age the deep fat shifts and drops, bone resorbs and ligaments loosen. The result is loss of projection, descent of tissues and loss of the highlights that frame the face.

Who does it affect?

It appears gradually from 35 onwards and accelerates after weight loss, multiple pregnancies or sustained stress. It is common in lean faces or fine bone structure, where the changes show earlier.

Help & Support

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the chin appear retracted or sunken?

A retracted chin may result from genetic factors, loss of bone volume with age, or naturally reduced lower jaw projection. Over time, decreased collagen and elastin accentuate this appearance. Posture and loss of subcutaneous fat in the chin area also contribute, creating lack of definition and profile projection.

What treatment does Santé use to increase chin volume?

At Santé, we use high-density hyaluronic acid through strategic infiltration in the chin area to restore projection and definition. This treatment adapts to your facial anatomy, improving profile and harmony with other facial structures. Hyaluronic acid is biocompatible, reversible, and provides natural results without invasive procedures.

How many sessions do I need and when will I see results?

Generally, one initial session of chin remodeling with hyaluronic acid is required. Results are visible immediately, though the final effect is fully appreciated at 7-10 days when mild swelling subsides. Results last 12-18 months, at which point you can consider a maintenance touch-up.

Does the treatment hurt and what is recovery time?

The procedure is very tolerable; we use topical anesthesia and atraumatic cannulas that minimize discomfort. There is no significant downtime—you can resume your routine immediately. Mild swelling or small bruises may occur, resolving within 24-48 hours. No age restrictions or major contraindications; we perform personalized pre-treatment assessment.
