Lip asymmetry

About the Treatment

Lip asymmetry

Lips lose volume, hydration and definition with age and sun. Repeated motion and smoking fix the barcode lines, the corners drop and the mucosa looks thinner. Each lip has its own anatomy, so treatment must be highly individual.

It is the leading consultation in younger patients (20-35) seeking more definition or hydration, and in mature patients who want to restore lip shape without volume. The key is natural results: the treatment shouldn't show.

Help & Support

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I have asymmetrical lips? Is it normal?

Lip asymmetry is very common and stems from multiple causes: natural anatomy (most people lack perfect symmetry), volume loss from aging, tobacco effects, previous trauma, or facial muscle weakness. It can also be accentuated by sleep posture or habits like lip biting. It's completely normal and fully treatable.

What treatment does Santé use to correct lip asymmetry?

At Santé, we use high-quality hyaluronic acid injections to balance volume between both lips. Through precise injections, we restore symmetry naturally, respecting facial anatomy. Treatment is personalized: we assess thickness, projection, and lip corners to achieve harmony. Some cases are complemented with lip contouring to define borders.

How many sessions do I need and when will I see results?

Results are immediate after a single session. Hyaluronic acid progressively integrates into tissues over 2–3 weeks, when optimal effect is achieved. Some patients request a touch-up at 15 days for fine adjustments. Duration is 9–12 months; afterward, you can repeat as preferred.

Does it hurt? Will I have swelling? Are there contraindications?

The procedure is minimally uncomfortable; we use topical anesthesia and atraumatic technique. Mild swelling for 24–48 hours and minimal bruising are normal. No downtime: return to routine immediately. We avoid treatment during active infections, known hyaluronic acid allergy, or pregnancy. Consult our team if you take anticoagulants.
