Loss of facial oval

Facial definition loss occurs due to decreased bone volume and resorption of subcutaneous adipose tissue, accelerated by declining collagen and elastin. Factors such as photoaging, gravity, loss of hydration, and genetics contribute. The result is progressive sagging, cheek descent, and diminished definition of the jawline and chin.

At Santé, we use Sculptra (polylactic acid), a collagen-inducing agent that restores volume progressively and naturally, and Radiesse (calcium hydroxyapatite), which provides immediate support and stimulates neocollagenesis. Both are applied via deep injection at strategic points to redefine the jawline, cheekbones, and facial contour.

Sculptra typically requires 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart; results appear progressively and peak at 3–4 months. Radiesse shows immediate effect, though full benefit is appreciated within 2–3 weeks. Both offer lasting results of 12–18 months.

Both treatments are well-tolerated with topical anesthesia. You may experience redness, mild swelling, or bruising for 24–48 hours. There is no significant downtime; you can resume normal activities immediately. Avoid intense massage of the area for one week. There are no age-related contraindications if you enjoy good general health.
