General laxity

About the Treatment

General laxity

Laxity is not only a skin issue: it also involves fascia, muscle and subcutaneous tissue. Age, fast weight loss, pregnancies, lack of activity and genetics weaken deep support. Skin becomes less firm, with sagging and fine lines.

Who does it affect?

Very common from 40 onwards, and earlier in patients who have lost significant weight or have thin skin by genetics. Good news: HIFU, radiofrequency or collagen biostimulators can delay surgery for years.

Help & Support

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does skin become saggy with age?

Sagging occurs due to progressive loss of collagen and elastin in the dermis, accelerated by photoaging, gravity, and hormonal changes. Over time, the dermal matrix weakens, fibroblasts produce fewer structural proteins, and skin loses its resilience. This particularly affects the facial contour, neck, and décolletage.

What treatments does Santé use to address general skin laxity?

At Santé, we combine HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) to stimulate collagen in deep layers with Sculptra (polylactic acid), a collagen-inducing agent that progressively restores volume and firmness. The protocol is personalized based on laxity degree, age, and affected areas for natural, long-lasting results.

How many sessions do I need and when will I see results?

HIFU typically requires 1–2 annual sessions; initial results appear at 2–3 weeks and improve over 3 months. Sculptra requires 2–3 monthly sessions; firmness increases gradually between treatments, with maximum effect at 3–4 months. Both treatments deliver progressive, natural results.

Does treatment hurt and what recovery time is needed?

HIFU produces controllable warmth; no downtime required. Sculptra is painless with topical anesthesia; mild bruising may appear for 24–48 hours. Both allow immediate normal activity. There's no minimum age restriction, though treatment is recommended from age 35–40. Consult our team about personal contraindications.
